It’s a damn shame really. There is so much good intelligent writing on the site, but like a great salad slathered in crap dressing it just disappears. I totally understand the need to make a living, but the divide between the elegance of thought evident in the site’s writing and the abrasive in-your-face brutality of the site’s advertising is simply inexcusable. It’s sites like this that necessitate Instapaper, Readability, et al.. It’s not like I have a silver bullet solution here - it’s a tough problem for sure - but there has to be some alternative to letting your advertisers just have their way with you, your writers, and your readers. A damn shame indeed.
