Peter Sarstedt Steals The Hotel Chevalier

Even though the adolescent web may be going gaga over Natalie Portman’s “extended nude scene” in Wes Anderson’s Hotel Chevalier (his short set before the action of his feature The Darjeeling Limited), the real star of the film is Peter Sarstedt. His song Where Do You Go To My Lovely sets a kind of haunting back drop that is pure Anderson… quirky, melodic, culturally familiar yet artfully obscure.
